Superintendent Gene Sementi presented the award to Joe along with Principal Lisa Skay who shared some words about why Joe was selected. An excerpt is included below:
“Joe continually goes well above the call of duty to support teachers and students. If there has been an icy or snowy day, he makes sure sidewalks and parking lots are safe to walk on. He feeds fish and waters plants when we are on break. If Joe sees someone carrying a big load, he will walk right up and take the load off their hands without being asked. In fact, he gets offended if we don’t ask for help!
Joe takes great pride in his work and always has his eye out for areas in the building that need a little extra TLC. In addition, if there is an evening event planned, he makes sure the building looks clean and organized before people start arriving. Probably the biggest strength of Joe is his can-do attitude and the smile on his face. It is very clear that Joe loves coming to work every day. And if he doesn’t know it already, we love having him around too!”
